Houses which require repair or reconstruction, are being covered with vinyl banners depicting false facades of those buildings. There are plenty of such houses, particularly in the center of Moscow, which creates the sense of the unreal surrounding space. People get around as if they were in a cartoon. Very often nothing happens behind those false facades: historic buildings gradually disappear or get destroyed without being noticed, in order to give way to new construction. The historic part of Moscow disappears step by step, and people seem to take no notice of this.
